Описание

The second SRC experiment at JINR (BM@N) in 2022 employed a 44.8 GeV/c 12C beam incident on a liquid hydrogen target to study the hard quasi-elastic proton-knockout reaction 12C(p, 2p)11B. The experimental configuration was optimized for 90 degrees center-of-mass scattering in inverse kinematics, corresponding to a high momentum transfer of approximately 2.5 (GeV/c)^2. Under there conditions, the cross section of the 12C(p, 2p)11B reaction was measured for the first time and compared with single-particle distorted-wave impulse approximation (DWIA) calculations (performed by A. Larionov BLTP, JINR) in hard kinematics, incorporating well-constrained initial- and final-state interactions within the Glauber framework. The extracted reduction factor, Rs = 0.96 +- 0.01 (stat) +- 0.05 (syst), is consistent with results from large Q2 (e, e’p) measurements and markedly different from the reduced strengths observed in low-energy quasi-elastic electron and hadron scattering (Rs ~ 0.6). These results support a universal, yet scale-dependent, manifestation of single-particle structure in nuclei.
